issues.
Background
dSince 1997, C. Alison Dolan, founder of the firm,
has worked with various organizations to promote a greater awareness of
disability issues. Her own story is one of inspiration and hope. At the age of
eleven, Alison was diagnosed with Type I diabetes. Twenty years later, she
suffered both kidney failure and vision loss due to complications of her
diabetes, thus ending her career with the Central Intelligence Agency. In 1995,
Alison received a kidney-pancreas transplant. Soon afterward, she obtained blind
rehabilitation training and a guide dog. She then earned her master’s degree
in Communications/Public Relations and launched her own business, Dolan
Consulting. Along with her guide dog, she presents programs to schools,
community groups, government officials, and businesses. She offers a unique
presentation, bringing to life her experiences.
